to julie wright with the on-time traffic. >>> let's start off in virginia with the inner loop slowing, braddock up to gallows where on the ramp at the exit is a stalled car. latest crash in the main line of 395 approaching glebe. the right side blocked off on the main line. it is heavy, slow and steady up to the accident scene. it's causing a tight squeeze out of shirlington past glebe and toward the 14th street bridge. 95 in separate stretchs will be slow, from dale city to lorton and newington toward the beltway. in maryland, between 205 and cedarville, accident pulled to the shoulder but the 301 is slow toward brandywine. 270 gridlocks to falls road before the pace improves. no change at the scene in northwest. 16th street is blocked off between park and columbia for investigation of an early morning fire. again a lot of bailout traffic on georgia avenue, 13th and 14th streets and north cap. that's a check of your fox 5 on- time traffic. >>> we are following the news out of northwest d.c. with several people injured in a fire. many residents forced from their home. this happened at

virginia he gathered in a back yard with a number of people who'd been adversely affected by the economy, by the healthcare law in particular. they talked about their trials and tribulations, but they also talked about obama administration policy that's have helped them. and that's the sort of thing the president is going to be emphasizing here. starting in albuquerque, gathering at someone's home, talking about the economy. obviously, that is the number one issue in the upcoming elections. then he travels to madison, wisconsin. more overtly political trip there. he'll hold a rally for the democratic national committee. and then on to des moines, iowa, where again he'll be gathering for sort of a small, semi-private gathering. of course, we will be there with cameras. where people are going to be talking about the economy. and then on to richmond, virginia, finally wrapping up on wednesday, with a similar event. and this is the sort -- this is the thing, alex. it's all tied together. the president trying to emphasize what we've heard many times in the past several weeks, that when he too

national committee and former governor of virginia. good to have you with us this morning. >> good to be back, thanks. >> one of the things i wanted to draw your attention was the cnn opinion research poll that says more people think that the country would be better off if congress was run by the republicans than the democrats. is there an enthusiasm gap out there? is there some question about whether or not democrats have the country on the right track? >> kiran, we definitely over the summer we're seeing that enthusiasm gap in a lot of polls. but we're seeing it dramatically close. so i think the cnn poll has a gap at about, you know, single digits, eight or nine points. we were seeing polls that showed it at 30 points over the summer. we're also seeing other polls where in the generic congressional ballot the republicans had a ten-point edge a month ago, and now it's essentially a dead heat among likely voters and very close among -- dead heat among registered and very close among likely voters. >> about 11 points, but go ahead. >> and we think we've got good momentum now. we're

the elections? virginia write, depends on how smart or stupid people are. if they're smart, the increase in poverty levels will create a corresponding increase of votes for the democrats. why anyone poor would vote republican is beyond me. missy writes it doesn't matter if democrats are at fault or not, they're the party in power. the nation looks to them for solutions. when they fail to address the very real problems this country has they deserve all the blame that is heaped upon them. joe writes, hard to say how it will affect the elections. it does indicate how effective the emfa service preventing the transfer of wealth from the rich to the poor has been. the rich are assuccumulating al the wealth. mike writes, the only group people can turn to if they are fed up with the status quo is the tea party. it's very possible people are voting for the tea party candidates simply out of frustration, not knowing what the group really stands for. she writes from arizona, it will probably be bad for the democrats as there are so many voters out there with short-term memory loss who don't rememb
